Sixth International Marine Science Communication Conference (CommOCEAN 2024)

Miguel Ángel Herrero Ramiro, member of the Food Proteins Group from the Institute of Food Science Research (CIAL, CSIC-UAM), attended the 6th International Marine Science Communication Conference (CommOCEAN 2024), that took place at the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO) in Málaga, Spain on 26-27th November 2024.

The conference was organized by the European Marine Board Communication Panel and aimed to discuss innovative ideas in the field of marine science communication, such as fostering engagement of younger audiences in science projects, making great presentations, writing compelling scripts for animations and using visual storytelling for international initiatives. It was a unique opportunity to network with fellow communicators from across Europe and beyond. Here are some of the main highlights from our participation in this event:

  • Miguel Ángel Herrero Ramiro presented the oral communication entitled “Communication strategies for the European project SEAFOODTURE: Integral valorisation of seaweed biomass for the development of sustainable, high nutritional quality food products”, developed together with Þormóður Dagsson from Matís ohf.

You may read the abstract and watch the oral communication at the CommOCEAN 2024 online exhibition.
